Protea Wellbeing

Adult Counselling (18+)

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. There may be times when coping strategies that once worked no longer feel sufficient, relationships become difficult, or emotional distress begins to impact daily life.

Counselling offers an opportunity to pause, reflect and explore what is happening in a confidential and supportive environment.

How Can Counselling Help?

Adult counselling can support individuals experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including:

Anxiety and excessive worry.
Stress and burnout.
Depression and low mood.
Bereavement and loss.
Relationship difficulties.
Family conflict.
Low confidence and self-esteem.
Life transitions and adjustment.
Workplace pressures.
Identity and self-exploration.
Emotional regulation difficulties.

You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Many individuals seek therapy as part of their commitment to personal development and emotional wellbeing.

What to Expect

Counselling sessions provide dedicated time and space for you to explore whatever feels important. Your counsellor will work collaboratively with you to:

Understand your experiences.
Clarify your goals.
Explore thoughts, emotions and behaviours.
Develop insight and self-awareness.
Identify strengths and resources.
Support you in making meaningful changes.

The pace of therapy will be guided by your needs and readiness.

A Safe, Confidential Space to Talk

Every session takes place in a warm, non-judgemental environment where you can speak openly and be heard. Whether face-to-face in Hutton or online, your counsellor will work at your pace to help you feel supported every step of the way.
